What is dental sedation?
Dentists often use sedation techniques to put patients in a calm and relaxed mood before beginning a procedure. We Use Nitrous Oxide. This is one of the most commonly used dental sedation methods in the country. You have probably heard it referred to as laughing gas. Within five minutes of inhaling the colorless, odorless gas, patients become calm and euphoric. Once the gas is done being used, the patient will be on oxygen for an additional five minutes and will return to normal. This is often used to calm patients prior to administering local anesthetic.
