Lumineers are less in thickness compared to normal dental veneers. Typical porcelain dental veneers are produced to be 0.5 millimeters thick. However, the veneers under the brand of Lumineers are made to a 0.3 millimeter thickness. Even though Lumineers are made from porcelain similar to other dental veneers, there’s a slight difference in its composition. The material with which Lumineers are made from is a mixture of feldspathic porcelain and leucite crystals, collectively known as Cerinate porcelain. In addition to using this special material, state of the art bonding techniques are also used to strengthen the Lumineers since they are less in thickness than normal dental veneers.
